Zoom & Pan

All Splice canvases — the assembly schematic, physical layout, plan layout, and plan schematic — share the same zoom and pan controls.

Scroll Behavior Modes

Open the Grid & Mouse Settings menu (gear icon in the toolbar) to choose a scroll mode:

ModeScroll WheelTrackpad Two-Finger
Auto (default)ZoomPan
ScrollZoomZoom
PanPanPan

Auto mode detects whether you’re using a mouse wheel or trackpad and adapts automatically — mouse wheel scrolls zoom, trackpad two-finger scrolls pan.

Grid & Canvas Appearance

The same Grid & Mouse Settings menu also controls the canvas grid:

SettingWhat It Controls
Show GridToggle the grid on/off
Snap to GridSnap component placement and dragging to the grid
SpacingDistance between minor grid lines (5–50). Major lines appear every 5 minor cells.
OpacityMaster opacity multiplier for both minor and major grid lines
BackgroundCanvas background — seven-stop ramp from near-black to white
Grid ColorGrid line color. The default swatch (marked with a dot) is the auto-paired direction for the current background — pick it to return to auto-pairing, or pick any other swatch to override.

Background and Grid Color are set independently per view — the Plan layout and the Schematic view each remember their own. The Assembly view is paper-themed and not configurable.

The Connector and Cable Creator editors expose the same Background and Grid Color pickers from their in-editor settings dropdown.
